Tuesday's Take Time to Care - I hope to use Tuesdays as a day to remind myself how to look outside myself and care about others through volunteering, helping a friend, smiling at a stranger, or encouraging a family member.
Sometimes the best medicine for a rough day is being with a friend. Sometimes the best way to have a great day is to be with friends. Friends are what restore me and keep me "in-check."
They let me know when I'm being crazy, impatient, irrational, bossy, and unrealistic. They also let me know when I'm being thoughtful, kind, caring, knowledgeable, and responsible.
When I think about how much my friends do for me in my life, I remember that I need to make sure I'm doing that much for my friends in their lives. One way I do this is to invite friends for walks! Walking with a friend gets us both outside, gets us both exercising, and gets us both enjoying each other's company.
I like to walk the trails near our house and sometimes we walk to the nearby lake and back. It depends how much time we have.
