What to do with leftover macaroni and cheese.

I don't know about your taste buds, but mine just can't eat left-over macaroni and cheese. The creaminess changes even after it sits stove-top for about twenty minutes. I used to try adding milk to it when I would re-heat it in the microwave, but I still didn't like the texture.

I recently thought to turn the leftovers into baked mac and cheese!

This is how I made it:
1. preheat your toaster oven to about 375.
2. in an oven safe dish, toss in a single serving of left-over mac and cheese.
3. mix in some shredded sharp cheese
4. in a separate bowl, melt some butter.
5. to the melted butter, add enough bread crumbs to soak up the butter.
6. sprinkle the bread crumbs on top.
7. heat in the toaster oven until golden brown and warm throughout.

Allergy friendly ingredients:
1. Soy-free Mac and Cheese: Back to Nature organic
2. Safeway sharp cheese
3. unsalted butter
4. Whole Foods Whole Wheat Bread Crumbs (these are just bread with no fillers)

What a wonderful idea! Gluten free mac and cheese is expensive, but I hate to serve it as leftovers to my kids, since I don't like it. I am definitely going to try this idea. Thanks for sharing!

What an awesome idea!! I would have just fed it to the kids - I'm terrible! :)
