Speaking of Education...

My family and I took a day trip to New York City recently (which, by the way, is a crazy thing to do!), and we stopped at the New York Public Library.

It was AMAZING! The architecture alone is mind-blowing, and we happened to go when there was an INCREDIBLE exhibit about children's literature: The ABC of it: Why Children's Books Matter. If you can make it to the library, and you have any connection to children's literature, I highly recommend you go to the free exhibit!

And, back to my point....Education!

In the exhibit, they had a globe mounted on the wall with three quotes about education. The one from Noah Webster in 1788 resonated with me as it summed up my beliefs about education quite nicely:

"The education of youth is, in all governments, an object of the first consequence. The impressions received in early life usually form the characters of individuals, a union of which forms the general character of a nation."
